"Faith has the last word"

"Oh, no! How can this be? This is the worst thing that could ever happen! I’m a Christian…I love the Lord and yet my world is crumbling."

Have you ever gone through a crisis so devastating that there seemed no hope for a future? Ever felt the rug pulled out from underneath you?

The enemy slithers by during those times to take advantage of the disastrous circumstances.

He whispers, “Now, what? You’ve lived your life for God and this is what He allows? He didn’t spare you this heartache? He isn’t answering your call for help? Where is He?”

Fear is the enemy's weapon of choice. He wields it with deadly accuracy. He’s had a lot of practice. His roar can be so loud your thoughts start to jumble.

Your footing seems unstable and you cry out…he jeers as you attempt to stand up and even mocks your effort to rise.

Overcoming fear of failure - Deal with it

There is a moment when failure shows up – when you realize it's at YOUR front door, in your life. In spite of everything you thought, planned and purposed – here it is… It’s devastating and brings fear with it.

I remember the first time I experienced failure. I thought “my life is over. I will be forever branded as a failure and there is just no hope.”

If you are breathing, you have experienced this as some point. It has taken me a good 20 years to realize that everyone will experience failure – it’s part of life.

I mean, we fought them off so many times. We had the counseling, got the help, practiced mindfulness, prayed a ton… But back in they creep. How do we deal with these unwelcome visitors then?

Simple...We begin again.

We refuse to be discouraged or give up.

Jesus never gave up on you when you were living in sin apart from God. When you were a dead man/woman walking the earth with no future.

No one gave up on you when you were learning to walk. “What a loser! He can’t put one foot in front of the other. Forget it. He’s bound to the stroller.” Nope. They kept helping you up…over and over. Eventually, you started walking. But you still fell a lot. And you ...
