I was born in the Midwest and raised in religion where it was considered 'holy' to be poor even though the religious leaders had new cars and all their housing, schooling etc. were paid for by the church members.  Domineering Dad a military vet with PTSD and intimidated Mom, eldest of 7 children. Got mouth-saved watching Christian TV where they give no warnings about counterfeit religions and was invited to a New Age church, did not know the difference at that time, spent 10 yrs. in that in my 20's - 30's. The HOLY SPIRIT sovereignly delivered me out of that false faith.  He knew my heart and that I LOVE HIM and always was seeking the Truth!

About that time the spirit of adultery seduced my husband and used a woman he worked with who had been w

Overcoming - Poverty Mentality - Change your Mindset

EPIC CONQUERORS PODCAST:

OVERCOMING POVERTY MENTALITY

"Change your Mindset"

I grew up in a normal middle-class family. My dad worked hard to earn an income. He would travel often and be away from home more often than not. His income paid the bills, put clothes on our backs and food on the table.
My parents worked according to a very strict budget. If it’s not a priority, it’s not in the budget. And if it’s not in the budget, there’s no money for it. It was tough as a kid. Not understanding the intricacies of finances and budgets. Not understanding that your family earns a certain amount of money, and everything must be done with that money.
Dad worked hard, my friends dads worked hard, and they got 3 to 5 times more pocket money than I got. They could play the sports they wanted to because their parents bought them the equipment and clothes they needed. They could go and study for the careers they wanted to have but I couldn’t.
There was no money available for it. There...

OVERCOMING POVERTY MENTALITY - EPISODE 1

Do you have enough?

What’s the one thing no one in our generation seems to have today?
Enough!!!
Enough Money. Enough likes on their instagram posts or enough followers.
People are buying into the idea that we are defined by what we have and what we do…not by who we are.
Thankfully, we have JESUS….The Bible tells us that our identity is not found in what we possess, it is found in who possesses us….Hallelujah. We are not enslaved by our possessions BUT rather set free by the blood of JESUS.
“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” -1 Timothy 6:10
Let's understand:
  • Having money isn’t evil.
  • Loving money too much leads to evils.
  • Chasing money can lead you away from what matters most.
  • Chasing money can lead to self-inflicted wounds.
There’s nothing wrong with being wealt...

"If He's got it, I don't and I don't want it."

HOW NOT TO QUIT BY A GUY WHO HAS QUIT A LOT AND LEARNED FROM QUITTING AND EVEN MORE FROM PERSISTENCE...

I have talked to so many people lately and this one thing continues to come up. I have even really wrestled with quitting myself!! A LOT over the past couple of months and I can’t guarantee I will never have those feeling again, but I can share how to get away from always living in the pit or the shadows and actually coming out and enjoying the sunshine once in a while.
  • Try to discipline yourself… Discipline is at the root of every success story. If you are lazy this is what you might lack.
  • Hard-work has NO substitute… If you wanna do it, it ought to have enough sweat and blood in it. Working hard doesn’t mean you work hard on useless things. It means that you go that extra mile to know about stuff…The stuff of your passion, your message, your breakthrough.  Learning from things is also hard-work.
  • Hard-work d...

Overcome Fear of Failure with Faith

God's got this. If I make the wrong choice, He's got plan B, C, D, E....

God has put it on my heart to share my latest experience of quitting my job last May, and going back into business for myself.  I heard God speak to me at Joyce Meyer's conference in April to quit my job.  It took about 7 weeks, due to fear, to do just that.
God IS good!
I am 56, almost 57 years old. I have been sober and drug free for over 36 years.  I've overcome an extremely abusive childhood of mental, emotional, and physical abuse. I have built 3 successful businesses from the ground up.  I enjoy my life and love to laugh and have fun, withOUT feeling guilty about it!

Overcoming fear of failure - Exceptional Living

"Its not about my pace, its about God's pace. How can I live my life more like Jesus?"

How often do you question all the things you’ve been told your entire life? From the moment we’re born into this world we’re told what to do. So much of what we believe about ourselves has actually been developed on someone else’s opinion (or judgement).  It’s time you challenge yourself to do the work to get to know thyself.
Remember, we’re always growing and expanding.  It’s a natural part of life. As we grow and evolve so will our wants, needs, desires and dreams. Things that once made us feel happy, excited and purpose driven may not be the same anymore.
Stay open to trying new things and give yourself permission to grow and expand. Check in with yourself to see if you’re connected to who you are in this moment, or if you’re trying to hang onto someone you used to be. Knowing Thyself is a lifelong journey that requires you to make a commitment to the process. But once you make that...

Overcoming fear of failure: a Second Chance - with Darryll Stinson

"Survive this season of struggle to tap into your season of abundance, Your better days are ahead"

Pursuing your purpose is a journey. You need support, a roadmap, and some resources and supplies to help you travel the route.
Add luggage (kids, debt, personal struggles, spouse) to your journey and the route may seem impossible.
You need a coach and a team who can help you put together a custom-tailored strategy for your purpose. This varies per individual. There’s no one-size-fits-all- template for this step. The process usually includes goal-setting, putting tasks on the calendar, budgeting, a funding plan and accountability
Second Chance Athletes is a movement of former and forgotten athletes on the come up.
People who know they were meant for greatness in their life after sports.
 Have you ever said:
  • “How do I live the life of my dreams when sports was the life of my dreams?”
  • “How do I pursue my purpose when I can barely afford to pay my bills?”
  • “Wha

OVERCOMING FEAR OF FAILURE - EPISODE 4

"Faith has the last word"

"Oh, no! How can this be? This is the worst thing that could ever happen! I’m a Christian…I love the Lord and yet my world is crumbling."
Have you ever gone through a crisis so devastating that there seemed no hope for a future? Ever felt the rug pulled out from underneath you?
The enemy slithers by during those times to take advantage of the disastrous circumstances.
He whispers, “Now, what? You’ve lived your life for God and this is what He allows? He didn’t spare you this heartache? He isn’t answering your call for help? Where is He?”
Fear is the enemy's weapon of choice. He wields it with deadly accuracy. He’s had a lot of practice. His roar can be so loud your thoughts start to jumble.
Your footing seems unstable and you cry out…he jeers as you attempt to stand up and even mocks your effort to rise.
Faith has the last word.
“But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I ...

Steps to overcoming fear of failure

OVERCOMING FEAR OF FAILURE - EPISODE 3

Overcoming fear of failure - Deal with it

There is a moment when failure shows up – when you realize it's at YOUR front door, in your life. In spite of everything you thought, planned and purposed – here it is… It’s devastating and brings fear with it.
I remember the first time I experienced failure. I thought “my life is over. I will be forever branded as a failure and there is just no hope.”
If you are breathing, you have experienced this as some point. It has taken me a good 20 years to realize that everyone will experience failure – it’s part of life.
However, the message from my parents, my educators, and even my Sunday school teacher was that my life has been setup to succeed. That was the point of life after all, right?
Failure was not an option – that would result in disappointing my parents and more importantly God.
I struggled to deal with that first failure – I couldn’t understand where did I go wrong, why did it go wron...

OVERCOMING FEAR OF FAILURE - 2

Some things in life are unavoidable...

Two of them are being born and dying. But there are also other unavoidable things , like the fear of failure.
No matter how hard we try, we will encounter them. The difference is how we handle the fear of failure.
Each person is different, each person handles circumstances differently. And each person has different fears around failures. I’m no different, I also have them. And sometimes, I fear failing.
What determines failure? Is it the standard or goal set by somebody else like in an exam or test? Or, is it a goal that we’ve set for ourselves? Is it a feeling of failing somebody else?
What creates our fears? Are they from past experiences,  from what we’ve been told by others, or the enemy planting thoughts in our minds?  No matter how our fears developed, they are there, and they are real, too real for our comfort.
What should we do with our fears?
Should we ignore them,  try and hide them, or try and...
