OVERCOMING NEGATIVE INNER DIALOGUE

"Put your praise on"

My name is Akesa Batchman. I am Polynesian from the south pacific island of American Samoa which means rich food, large family, and good vibes! I’m a mother of five, who recently relocated from California to North Carolina. Previously worked in the Healthcare Industry for almost 15 years and switched to Aviation 3 years ago. After traveling for work as a Flight Attendant based originally in Los Angeles then transferring to Washington DC, I decided to pursue obtaining my pilot’s license full time a few months ago.

Aviation has always been a dream I never imagined I could achieve, but I believe was birthed in me as a child while I was living in Hawaii.

Our family moved to San Diego when I was 12 years old, with my parents working as civilians with government jobs. In my culture we’re very spiritual and religion is a staple of our community, however my mom changed the trajectory of our family when she attended a revival i...

OVERCOMING NEGATIVE INNER DIALOGUE - EPISODE 2

Use your words wisely.

"The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences."  -Proverbs 18:21
No doubt someone has hurt you, offended you, betrayed you, or slandered you… it's time to stop the cycle. Don’t lower yourself to their level and become another “accuser.” Don’t allow the inner negative dialogue to suck you in to that dark place.
Forgive.  Forgive yourself…It’s so difficult; especially when it keeps coming up; but we have to let it go… again, and again, if necessary.
There’s a God in heaven who sees and knows and will see you through. Stay the course.
So… how are you using your words?
Are you speaking life or death?  We have a choice. I choose life. What do you choose?
Some of us had parents or adult role models in our life that screwed this up. They used their words to speak death and destruction over us.
Many people in therapy today are dealing w...

OVERCOMING POVERTY MENTALITY - EPISODE 8

Count it all Joy

A mentality of poverty consists of very short term goals and instant gratification.

Review from the 2 previous blogs:

We can fall into the traps of depending on others to provide for us or relying on others to feel secure.

Self-sabatoge continues without restraints. The idea that everyone owes us because of our current situation breeds entitlement; which isolates and then consumes a person with bitterness.

God designed us to know we are loved and wanted by Him and by our natural and spiritual family.

Since the garden of Eden, sin has access to humanity. It has sown weeds among the tares and has spread like leaven in a lump of dough until the whole loaf is infused and puffed up.

Can we escape this dilemma?

Yes, God has provided a way for us to live a healthy life in spirit, soul and body.

Let's look closer at this final part of this 3 part series.

Count it all joy.

I was on...

"the TRUTH will set you free"

Lee shares the story of her son Noah in this podcast. At birth he was diagnosed with a condition called Spina Bifida - https://g.co/kgs/dJtVE6

Today he is a strong determined young man, having overcome challenges with a warrior heart. In one of his recent blogposts on his site (http://wayfarernoah.co.za) he shared:

"I started a drawing, and when I had the idea of this drawing, I thought it would just be a quick sketch but I began to wonder,”If I put in a little bit more time and have  a little bit more patience with it,will it look better and more natural?” the answer so far is yes.

When you have patience and slow your thought’s down things become easier to process and everything starts to flow, once you relax, you start to think about thing’s you would normally never have the time to think about, and as you do nothing but think, a smile start’s to form on your face and the enjoym...

Overcome Poverty Mentality

EPIC CONQUERORS PODCAST:

OVERCOMING POVERTY MENTALITY - EPISODE 4

"Overcome"

Poverty is defined as the state of being inferior in quality or insufficient in amount. I have noticed that poverty never shows up alone in a person’s life – It’s gang includes hopelessness, depression and victimhood (you know, the “poor me, pity me” syndrome). These together with poverty create a poverty mentality.

Society has pushed the idea that success is a big bank account filled with unlimited cash, fancy cars, big houses. “The good life” is portrayed as parties and brand-named clothing and crowds of people you can call “friends”.  People have judged themselves and others against this standard. This image has been drummed into us since kindergarten, and for today’s little ones, as soon as that device is put into their little hands.

It is only as we get older and wiser we discover that true success in life has nothing to do material wealth and cannot be bought with cash.

Poverty mentality ta...

Christian Prayer Minister, Public Inspirational Motivational Speaker, Weight Loss Expert, Life Enhancement Mentor.

I was born in the Midwest and raised in religion where it was considered 'holy' to be poor even though the religious leaders had new cars and all their housing, schooling etc. were paid for by the church members.  Domineering Dad a military vet with PTSD and intimidated Mom, eldest of 7 children. Got mouth-saved watching Christian TV where they give no warnings about counterfeit religions and was invited to a New Age church, did not know the difference at that time, spent 10 yrs. in that in my 20's - 30's. The HOLY SPIRIT sovereignly delivered me out of that false faith.  He knew my heart and that I LOVE HIM and always was seeking the Truth!

About that time the spirit of adultery seduced my husband and used a woman he worked with who had been w

EPIC CONQUERORS PODCAST:

OVERCOMING POVERTY MENTALITY

"Change your Mindset"

I grew up in a normal middle-class family. My dad worked hard to earn an income. He would travel often and be away from home more often than not. His income paid the bills, put clothes on our backs and food on the table.
My parents worked according to a very strict budget. If it’s not a priority, it’s not in the budget. And if it’s not in the budget, there’s no money for it. It was tough as a kid. Not understanding the intricacies of finances and budgets. Not understanding that your family earns a certain amount of money, and everything must be done with that money.
Dad worked hard, my friends dads worked hard, and they got 3 to 5 times more pocket money than I got. They could play the sports they wanted to because their parents bought them the equipment and clothes they needed. They could go and study for the careers they wanted to have but I couldn’t.
There was no money available for it. There...
