1. Our enemies are being defeated.
2. Our heart is being formed and fashioned

Overcoming Disappointment - Part 2

Overcoming Disappointment

"As EPIC Conquerors we say “the battle is real, but the victory is assured.”

Disappointments happen to everyone. What we hoped for, wanted to have happen, hoped would happen, expected to happen…didn’t.  Now what?

Mad, rage, angry, pout, pity party, curse up a storm, lash out, break or smash something, etc.

All human responses, all are temper tantrums we throw when things don’t turn out how WE wanted or perceived them to turn out because, after all, we should be exempt from trials, right?

Some disappointments happen as the result of actions from others and some from our own poor choices or decisions made.

Some disappointments are unrelated to anything we have control over, epidemics, economic downturns, overthrow of governments, earthquakes, accidents, windstorms, hail, unknowingly or unaware that we’re in the wrong place at the wrong time, etc.

Now that we’ve considered all of that...

Overcoming Anxiety - With Priscilla

EPIC CONQUERORS:

OVERCOMING ANXIETY EPISODE:3

"Jesus is my weapon"

Severe stressors and traumatic experiences in life can lead to the inability to master personal mental and emotional functioning. Life is a onetime journey that is precious and valuable. However, due to various factors that can contribute to incorrect thinking patterns, many people continuously deny themselves of reaching their full potential. Adaptability is critical.

My greatest passion is to assist an individual with becoming empowered spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically by perceiving each person as a uniquely made creation.  In efforts to guide adults and families towards a personal journey of healing,I have acquired knowledge in therapeutic orientations such as Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. With the capacity to assimilate, associate, and to view others as a component of self, support can then be given for no other reason except...

Overcoming - Poverty Mentality - Break the Cycle

OVERCOMING POVERTY MENTALITY - EPISODE 6

Break the Cycle

A mentality of poverty consists of very short term goals and instant gratification. We can fall into the traps of depending on others to provide for us or relying on others to feel secure.

Self-sabatoge continues without restraints. The idea that everyone owes us because of our current situation breeds entitlement; which isolates and then consumes a person with bitterness.

God designed us to know we are loved and wanted by Him and by our natural and spiritual family.

Since the garden of Eden, sin has access to humanity. It has sown weeds among the tares and has spread like leaven in a lump of dough until the whole loaf is infused and puffed up.

Can we escape this dilemma?

God has provided a way for us to live a healthy life in spirit, soul and body.

Poverty Mentality vs. Balanced Mentality

Some real life examples:

  1. My daughter is a school teacher and one...

"If He's got it, I don't and I don't want it."

HOW NOT TO QUIT BY A GUY WHO HAS QUIT A LOT AND LEARNED FROM QUITTING AND EVEN MORE FROM PERSISTENCE...

I have talked to so many people lately and this one thing continues to come up. I have even really wrestled with quitting myself!! A LOT over the past couple of months and I can’t guarantee I will never have those feeling again, but I can share how to get away from always living in the pit or the shadows and actually coming out and enjoying the sunshine once in a while.
  • Try to discipline yourself Discipline is at the root of every success story. If you are lazy this is what you might lack.
  • Hard-work has NO substitute If you wanna do it, it ought to have enough sweat and blood in it. Working hard doesn’t mean you work hard on useless things. It means that you go that extra mile to know about stuff…The stuff of your passion, your message, your breakthrough.  Learning from things is...

Overcoming fear of failure - Exceptional Living

"Its not about my pace, its about God's pace. How can I live my life more like Jesus?"

How often do you question all the things you’ve been told your entire life? From the moment we’re born into this world we’re told what to do. So much of what we believe about ourselves has actually been developed on someone else’s opinion (or judgement).  It’s time you challenge yourself to do the work to get to know thyself.
Remember, we’re always growing and expanding.  It’s a natural part of life. As we grow and evolve so will our wants, needs, desires and dreams. Things that once made us feel happy, excited and purpose driven may not be the same anymore.
Stay open to trying new things and give yourself permission to grow and expand. Check in with yourself to see if you’re connected to who you are in this moment, or if you’re trying to hang onto someone you used to be. Knowing Thyself is a lifelong journey that requires...

OVERCOMING FEAR OF FAILURE - EPISODE 4

"Faith has the last word"

"Oh, no! How can this be? This is the worst thing that could ever happen! I’m a Christian…I love the Lord and yet my world is crumbling."
Have you ever gone through a crisis so devastating that there seemed no hope for a future? Ever felt the rug pulled out from underneath you?
The enemy slithers by during those times to take advantage of the disastrous circumstances.
He whispers, “Now, what? You’ve lived your life for God and this is what He allows? He didn’t spare you this heartache? He isn’t answering your call for help? Where is He?”
Fear is the enemy's weapon of choice. He wields it with deadly accuracy. He’s had a lot of practice. His roar can be so loud your thoughts start to jumble.
Your footing seems unstable and you cry out…he jeers as you attempt to stand up and even mocks your effort to rise.
Faith...
