In His presence the stench of the world is replaced with the perfume of His presence

Ah, yes. Toxic people, toxic circumstances and toxic language abound in our polluted world. Thank God we are not of it, but we still live in it until it's time to graduate to GLORY. So, what can we do with all the toxic things that try to smell up our lives on a daily basis?

Let's talk about toxic people.
1. Recognize that's what they are. (That's not judging incorrectly...by their fruit you shall know them). Sadly, even some Christians are carnal and therefore toxic.
2. Detach emotionally from them. Put them at arm's length in your mind and heart.
3. Forgive them for their toxic behavior towards you. Bless them in the name of the Lord and move on and away from them, if at all possible.

What about toxic circumstances:
1. If you're in a family situation get outside counsel and help. That's not weakness, that's wisdom and strength.
2. If you're in a toxic work environment go through the 3 steps shared above about toxic people, then prayerfully work out a strategy exit plan to remove yourself from the situation.
3. If you're in a toxic neighborhood...work out a strategy exit plan and move or pray them into God's family or out of the neighborhood. (Get THE MASTER'S Class link in the show notes.)

What about toxic language:
1. If it's coming from a device, turn it off or change the channel.
2. If it's coming from surrounding people, remove yourself or leave the situation.
3. If it's coming from an immediate family member...do the steps under toxic people. Pray and ask God for a strategy to implement to get them to change their speaking. (ie: $1 in a jar for every word that's toxic) Get counsel from an outside source where you can share your unique situation.

Proverbs 5:21-22 says, "Fill your thoughts with My words until they penetrate deep into your spirit. Then, as you unwrap My words, they will impart true life and radiant health into the very core of your being."

Verse 24 says, "Avoid dishonest speech and pretentious words. Be free from using perverse words no matter what."

You have permission to create a healthy place for yourself and your children to live in peace and to enjoy the goodness of God.

Be proactive:
• Be good to you. Take care of yourself. Put your oxygen mask on first. (airplane)
• Speak good to yourself about you. Not like a diva but as God sees you.
• Choose close friends who are also healthy, promote peace and well-being.
Above all, enjoy God and His presence throughout the day. He is a strong power and the righteous can run into it and be safe.

Proverbs 18:10 in the Passion translation reads like this:
"The character of God is a tower of strength, for the lovers of God delight to run into His heart and be exalted on high."

In His presence the stench of the world is replaced with the perfume of His presence. Mmmm, how sweet it is to live and dwell with God and His people.
