When I know in my “knower” so strongly
that it’s already a finished situation as though it had manifested.
We all have decisions that we make on a regular basis. What to eat, wear, etc. When it comes to the big decisions in life we want to be wise and choose the right choice.
Bob Mumford shared a story over 45 years ago that I have never forgotten. He shared about a certain harbor that was very dangerous for ships to navigate. Many had shipwrecked trying to do so as there were treacherous rocks under the surface of the water.
Someone discovered that there was a way to bring a ship in safely if they followed a certain route. They decided to guide the ship safely to shore they would erect 3 harbor lights. If a ship aligned themselves to the 3 lights they could safely arrive at the harbor.
The three lights must appear as one single light. If any of the three were off kilter then the ship was not safe to come to shore. We have 3 harbor lights we can use as Christians when we need to make big decisions.
Word of God: Does it line up to the scripture, to the will of God. Psalm 110:105 “Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.”
Witness of the Holy Spirit: Colossians 3:15 “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”
Circumstances: There are two ways I’ve discovered for this harbor light that I need to pay attention to. One is when the gift of faith is in operation vs. when I’m just hoping everything will work out. When I know in my “knower” so strongly that it’s already a finished situation as though it had manifested. Second is for actual circumstances to be present in the natural realm. Money, people, situations, open doors, etc.
When all three line up as one we can navigate through the treacherous waters. If only one or two are lined up wait for all three as confirmation before you jump into this BIG decision that is ahead of you.
This will require the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23. Fruit in the Greek is the natural product of a living thing. The fruit or product of Christ’s Spirit in you will produce results naturally. You don’t produce the fruit of the Spirit in your strength. He produces the fruit of His Spirit through you. You can’t manufacture it.
He will do it as you crucify your flesh/impulsive nature wanting things on your terms. When we surrender our will to His then He is able to manufacture fruit through your life.Jesus prayed, “Not My will, but Thine be done.” That’s to be our prayer too.
