If anyone had to get up each day and just "DO IT" it was Jeremiah.
Success by the worlds standards usually are accompanied by acquiring wealth, prestige, favor and power. People who, you know, have it all together, have financial and emotional security, yada, yada, yada.
Life here is temporary. Life hereafter is forever.
It's much more valuable to have success in the eye's of God, than in the world's. His rewards endure for eternity which never ends.
Jeremiah would not have been considered a success by just about anyone. However, he was a success in the eyes of God. That makes all the difference.
Looking through the lens of the world's view he was a miserable failure. For 40 years he served as God's spokesman to Judah. When he spoke, no one listened. He continuously urged them to act on God's commands, but nobody moved one inch toward the things that mattered to God. He was poor, underwent hunger and deprivation in order to deliver the message God had given him to deliver.
In chapter 37 he's thrown into prison. Chapter 38 into a cistern. Taken against his will to Egypt in chapter 43. Throughout the book of his life story you see his family, friends, priests, prophets, kings and the audiences he spoke to turn from him. He stood alone. Anyone during his day would have chalked his name down under the list of "Failures."
BUT GOD!In His eyes, Jeremiah was a success. God measures success by our obedience and faithfulness to do His bidding.
Regardless of cost and personal detriment Jeremiah courageously and faithfully proclaimed the word of the Lord. He would just "DO IT!'
What can we learn from his story? Like Jesus, Jeremiah understood that God's view is what counts. People come and people go but God remains. What He says counts. His perspective is always just, righteous and true.
We may not understand why we have to go through this trial, experience that heart ache, go down this road that leads to nowhere (or so it seems) and face untold difficulties to where we feel like 'what did I do wrong' to deserve this!!!???
Child of God, commit yourself to being successful in God's eyes.
*Be an instrument of Him wherever you are.
*Allow Him to speak through you.You can trust Him to never let you go. He will get you where He needs you to be to fulfill His purposes in the earth.
As God said to Jeremiah, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a spokesperson to the people." Jeremiah 1:5
"You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the Lord. (1:7)
"DO IT " for God is with you and He is for you. You cannot fail. God is your source. Keep on giving 'em heaven in Jesus' name.
