Overcoming - Negative Inner Dialogue - Epic Conqueror Champion
OVERCOMING NEGATIVE INNER DIALOGUE
"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven..." (Matthew 16:19)
The most popular topic chosen in the EPIC Conqueror survey we conducted was overcoming Negative Inner Dialogues.
Contemplating and meditating on this topic, the Holy Spirit pointed me to some notes I had written in my Bible.
Jesus gave us His power and authority over the enemy. (Matthew 28:18)
"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven..." (Matthew 16:19)
It is His to give since through His death, Jesus broke off and destroyed the power of him who held the power of death, the devil. (Hebrews 2:14)
"Do not be afraid. I hold the keys of death and the grave...I am alive for evermore and I have the keys of hell and of death." (Revelation 1:17-18)
Drum roll please: Not only is the devil clueless; he is keyless.
He's clueless. If he had known what was happening, he wouldn't have crucified the Lord of glory. He sealed his doom when He put Christ in the tomb. (I Corinthians 2:8)
He's also keyless. Jesus disarmed and stripped principalities, powers and authorities making an open spectacle of them and triumphing over them through the cross. (Colossians 2:15)
Keys are authority. They give you the right or access to something. Satan has been stripped of his. He doesn't even have the keys to his own front door.
He lost, Jesus won!
Humility proceeds honor. Jesus humbled Himself even to the death of the cross and now He has been given the name above all names, all power and all authority in heaven and on the earth. Hallelujah. (Philippians 2:8-11)
Jesus is our EPIC Conqueror CHAMPION.
Now, how does this relate to our conversation about the Negative Inner Dialogue?
When we allow negative words and thoughts to fuel our responses in life we are actually elevating the enemy and basically handing him our keys to our life...that Jesus paid the price to give us.
Jesus plainly shows us the truth in the Bible so we don't have to be ignorant of the enemy's devices. The devil is a thief, a liar and a destroyer.
Would you hand over your safety deposit box, your house or car keys to a thief, a murderer and a lying thug? NO! You would fight to the death to protect what is yours and your family's.
Then, how is it that we allow the devil access to our most prized possession... our freedom and liberty that we have in Christ to be more than conquerors through Him Who loves us? (II Corinthians 3:17, Romans 8:37)
Through ignorance, deception and an unwillingness to stand up and grab ahold of that which Christ has paid the price for us to have, we remain held captive. His fiery darts continue their assault. He attempts to wear us down to give up and raise the white flag of surrender. (Philippians 3:12)
NEVER! Choose this day whom you will serve. I choose Jesus. I choose to be an EPIC Conqueror, how about you?
Whatever energy, discipline or effort it takes to defeat him in my thought life and my actions...it has tremendous reward. FREEDOM. LIBERTY. VICTORY.
Use the keys Jesus gave you. Go forth in His name. Pull down strongholds and vain imaginations. Replace them with His words, His thoughts and His desire for our lives.
In that way, we elevate Jesus as our King of Kings and Lord of Lords, our Most Excellent EPIC Conqueror CHAMPION.
