The Power of One
Because of THE ONE
"For, if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ." Romans 5:17
Life has a way of throwing curve balls. One minute it seems "all is well" and the next it is as if "all hell broke loose." Ever noticed that?
When things are good you have a song in your heart and a whistle on your lips. BUT, when things go sideways and upside down, oh my. That's often a different story. Gone is the song AND the whistle.
In our text today, notice the Power of One.
Through ONE man, Adam, death reigned. You were sold out to be born with a sin nature.
However, the GOOD NEWS: through ONE man, Jesus Christ, that debt was paid on your behalf when you accepted His gift, repented of your sinful nature and invited Him to be your Lord and Savior...that, my friend, changed everything.
Now, through the ONE man, Jesus Christ you received some powerful gifts to see you through each and every day.
1. Abundant Provision of Grace (God's favor upon you)
2. Gift of Righteousness (Right standing with God)
With those two gifts you can REIGN in LIFE through the ONE man who paid the price for you to live free of judgement, sin, trespasses and condemnation. (vs 16)
Living your life through your relationship with Jesus also gives you the POWER to look at life and all it brings through a new lens.
"I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)
Since the Greater ONE lives in you, you have no need to fear the difficult times that come. Yes, you may cry, grieve, feel the pain of the moment in times of crisis and trauma BUT know Jesus Christ has never left or forsaken you. (Hebrews 13:5)
When you have God's name, are born into His family, He is with you. His name Emmanuel means: God with you!
The definition of “Leave:” physically gone or absent.
The definition of “Forsake:” emotionally disconnected.Jesus Christ never leaves you physically as He is IN YOU through the new birth. He even sent The Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to walk alongside you. (John 16:7)
Jesus Christ never forsakes you emotionally as He is touched by the feelings of your infirmities. (Hebrews 4:15) He identifies with your joys and sorrows sharing them with you.
This is exciting and pure Awesome Sauce!
How amazing to know in Christ you have the POWER of ONE, Jesus Himself, to lead the way as you reign in this life, doing exploits in His name, advancing His kingdom.
