"God's love is meteoric,
His loyalty astronomic,
His purpose titanic,
His verdicts oceanic.
Yet in His largeness nothing gets lost; not a man, not a mouse slips through the cracks.
How exquisite Your love, O God! How eager we are to run under Your wings." (Psalms 36:5-6 Msg)
The woman with the issue of blood pressed into God's love for her with a "It's never or it's now" determination. She was desperate for a life-change.
Have you ever been in that place where you know if something doesn't happen ...it's over for you? She was.
I've been there a few times myself. In that place we have two options...press into God or walk away.
She chose to squeeze in. She had already wrestled 12 long years with this trial, this pain. She spent all she had in time, money, effort and even availed herself of ALL that physicians had to offer.
NOW was the time! She chose to press in and touch the hem of His garment.
It was NOT time to give up, quit or give in.
I like to think she knew, from hearing the scrolls read in the temple, that it was written, "But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings." (Malachi 4:2)
The meaning of the word wings is the hem of a garment. She revered or feared God. She knew, therefore, she was a qualified candidate.
Perhaps she had also seen the miracles when Jesus was around. News of His travels spread far and wide. She purposed to find her miracle under His wings.
If she could just touch the hem of His priestly prayer shawl (garment)...healing beams would radiate through her and she would be whole.
Her faith caused her to forcefully move into and through the boisterous, rowdy crowd that was already crushing Jesus...to touch Him. (Luke 8:42b)
No easy task even for a strong, healthy person. "It's never or it's now."
Let it be NOW was her decision. With every last ounce of life left in her - she forced her faith to act until - she touched Him.
Instantly...Jesus knew. Virtue flowed from Him. Someone touched Him.Faith made a withdrawal.
Then, Jesus pushed through the noise and clamor of the crowd. He stood still in order to stop everything so He could reach down to her. WOW!
He didn't shame her, or blame her in front of the whole town. No. He applauded her.
She was made whole in a blink of an eye. Jesus honored her in front of everyone. She received her miracle that day.
- How about you? Are you willing to press through to your miracle?
- Does the crowd of voices, the push and shove of life seem too much?
- Are you tempted to quit and give up? To say, "What's the use?"
Don't! God has healing in His wings for you. Press in. Be determined. This is the hour for your miracle. Perhaps you need healing financially, physically, socially, emotionally, mentally...all you need is wrapped up in Jesus and His atonement made for us.Psalm 37 (Msg BIble)
"Open up before God, keep nothing back...He'll do whatever needs to be done...bridle your anger, trash your wrath, cool your pipes - it only makes things worse...
...the righteous are God-strong...work for the good and don't quit...the righteous chews on wisdom like a dog on a bone, the righteous rolls virtue around on his tongue.
...his heart pumps God's Word like blood through his veins; his feet are as sure as a cat's...wait passionately for God, don't leave the path.
...He'll give you your place in the sun...there's a future in strenuous wholeness...when we run to Him, He saves us."
Run to Jesus, not from Him.
It's never or it's now...choose NOW!
